How to Gear Up For A Fresh Start
As I look back at our winter 2020-2021 photo sessions…,
… it’s a pleasant reminder of the fun, laughs, and experiences I share with my clients. One session I’ll be sharing with you today is from a client named Chloe pictured below.
While we shot multiple looks during Chloe’s session, this is one of my favorites.
Her outfit is a mix of new pieces and pieces she already owned.
For this photo session, I want to convey the sporty side of Chloe’s personality, while still maintaining a stylish aesthetic. As you can see, she is wearing her New Balance sneakers with athletic socks which are exposed on purpose to pull in the whole aesthetic.
I added the floppy hat to give her outfit a chic element, and it doubles as a great prop too. Along with her hat, I added a little backpack. This beige backpack stays on theme with our color palette, and is perfectly practical for a girl-on-the-go.
Having something for my client to hold onto during our photo session usually gives them more confidence posing in front of the camera.
Rarely do my clients have any experience posing or modeling, or even participating in a photo shoot before.
So, asking them to model new clothes in public, (let alone on a busy street in Brookline, like Chloe is doing here) is no small feat.
Let me know in the comments below if you agree that Chloe nailed it!
Making sure my clients are comfortable is the goal 100% of the time.
Whether I’m shooting them for a Photography and Styling for Social Media session, or entering their homes for a Wardrobe Refresh, or talking to them over FaceTime/Zoom for a Tell Me What to Wear service.
I make decisions about their wardrobe and what their overall aesthetic will be, based on their level of comfort and commitment.
